Solo Guitar Competition 2026
This will be the 4th year of this nationwide solo guitar competition in Japan. All judges are active guitarists, and they will also perform live after the competition.

★ About the application of preliminary audition

Participation requirements
・Solo guitar only (No duet or other accompaniment).
・For the professional category, applicants need to submit 1 original song and 1 originally arranged cover song.
・For Cover Category (Open Tuning) and Cover Category (Standard Tuning), applicants need to submit 2 songs of either originally arranged song or a cover of a fingerstyle guitar music.
・Applicants should commit to participate in the final round of the competition on Oct. 3, 2026 if passing the audition.
・Applicants who speak Japanese or English.
・Flat picks are not allowed to be used in the competition, while thumb picks are acceptable.
・Please record the songs for audition using only microphones. No effectors should be applied to the audio files for audition. (Guitar sound in the final competition will also be collected by microphone only.)
・Applicants can only apply for one category of the competition. Entering two or more categories among the Professional Category, the Cover Category (Open Tuning) and the Cover Category (Standard Tuning) is not permitted.
・For applicants who have taken part in Solo Guitar Competition before (regardless of the category): the songs that have been performed in past competitions should not be used in the upcoming audition.
・Participants are required to perform in the final round the same pieces that were submitted for the preliminary audition.
・Past winners of the professional category are not allowed to enter the competition again, while past winners of cover song category are allowed to participate again.
・Participants are required to perform in the final round the same pieces that were submitted for the preliminary audition.
・Applicants residing in China and South Korea may be subject to separate screening processes; we will inform you once the details are finalized.

◆ Solo Guitar Competition in China
This is a video-based competition for guitarists residing in China.
Applicants residing in China are required to enter through this competition.
The top four participants will advance to the second round. The winner of the second round will earn a place in the Grand Final on October 3.
The three remaining finalists from the second round will automatically be entered into the preliminary audition stage of the Grand Final.

アコースティックギタリスト/作曲家牧師家庭に生まれ幼少より讃美歌、ゴスペルに親しむ。
11歳でドラム、15歳よりギターを始める。
2009年アコースティックギタリストの登竜門「FINGER PICKING DAY2009」に出場。
「最優秀賞」「オリジナルアレンジ賞」受賞。
2010年、アメリカ・カンザス州で開催された世界的なギターコンテスト「39th Walnut Valley Festival」に日本代表として出場し、Top5に選出される。
2015年から韓国、中国などアジアでの演奏活動を開始。
2019年、全15都市を巡る中国ツアーを開催し好評を博す。
2021年発売Acoustic Guitar Book 53では表紙に抜擢される。
2022年、全国の楽器店員が「世に広めたいイチ押しプレイヤー」を選ぶ『楽器店大賞』にてギタリスト部門 大賞受賞。
スクウェア・エニックス・ミュージックの公式YouTubeチャンネルにてファイナルファンタジーシリーズなどの楽曲のギターアレンジを担当し好評を博す。
これまで10枚のアルバムをリリースし、その緻密なフィンガーピッキング奏法の楽曲は海外を中心に話題となりYouTubeチャンネルの登録者は100万人、Instagramのフォロワーは50万人を突破。
アコースティックギター界の旗手の一人として注目を集めている。

1974年生まれ。5才からクラシックピアノを始め、中学二年生でギターを始める。
高校1年生の6月にカセットレーベル「Greenwind Records」を設立。

1999年にギタリストのPeter Fingerが主宰するドイツのレーベルＡＭＲのコンピレーションアルバム「Acoustic Guitar MADE IN JAPAN」に参加。

ギターの可能性を広げる音響とそれを支えるテクニックに裏づけられた情緒的かつ繊細な楽曲が注目を集めている。
奈良県出身。
幼少期から5年程ピアノを習い、15歳頃からギターを始める。
その後、弾き語りやバンド活動を経て、ソロギターに転向。
2010年、モリダイラ楽器主催・フィンガーピッキングギターコンテスト全国大会にて、最優秀賞1位を含む4冠を受賞。
2011年、アメリカ・カンザスで行われた世界大会・第40回ウォルナットバレー・インターナショナル・フィンガースタイルギター・チャンピオンシップ（International Fingerstyle Guitar Championship）に出場し、第2位を受賞。
これまでに4枚のCDアルバムを発表しており、演劇の舞台のBGM、USEN（有線）音楽放送、TV番組内のBGM等にオリジナルの楽曲が多数使用されている。
また、以前から配信・ストリーミングされていた1stアルバム『Bouquet of Blessings』に続き、2022年11月より、2nd『Scenery』、3rd『Atelier』、4th『Memoria』の各アルバムも、各種音楽配信・ストリーミングを開始。
2021年頃から、楽譜の販売サイト「Piascore」（ピアスコア）にて、自身の楽曲のTAB譜付き楽譜を販売開始。
過去に中国・上海で行われた大規模な音楽イベント「上海 Music China」には、自身の愛器でもある「アストリアス・グランソロ」というギターの、デモ演奏者として参加。
2015年5月に3rdアルバム『Atelier』を発表と同時に、自身のレーベル「Cow & Butter Music」を立ち上げている。
演奏活動のほか、関西各地でギターレッスンを行っている。
2002年 1st アルバム「INVITE」をリリース。2003年 中川イサト氏プロデュースのアコースティックギター・コンピレーション・アルバム「Daybreak」（第一興商）に参加。参加ギタリストである中川イサト、丸山ももたろう、住出勝則、岸部眞明との合同ツアーを行う。
2004年 Hip Hop系ユニット、Def Techのヒット曲「My Way」にアコースティックギターで参加。この曲が横浜タイヤのテレビＣＭに使われ、280万枚以上という売上げ枚数を記録。
2005年 2nd アルバム「Ordinary Life」をリリース。
2006年 絶版となっていた1st アルバムを「Invite+2」として再リリース。またアルバム「Ordinary Life」が台湾でリリースされ初の台湾ツアーを行う。
2007年 ギター楽曲「Water Dance」に歌詞が付けられて、J-pop歌手の伊藤由奈（ソニー・ミュージック）のシングル「Mahaloha」として提供。また中国（上海・北京）にて初のツアーを行う。
2011年 3rd アルバム「Philosopher's Stone」をリリース。ギター楽曲「Reunion with a Rainbow」に歌詞がつけられて、Def Techのアルバム「UP」の収録曲「friends for always」として提供。
2014年 4th アルバム「Rainbow」をリリース。
2017年 ヨーロッパ（ドイツ、イタリア、スペイン、ハンガリー）で初のツアーを行う。
2019年 岸部眞明氏とのデュオ・アルバム「岸部・下山」をリリース。
フィンガースタイルギタリスト、作曲家。多彩な奏法を駆使し、アコースティックギター1本で様々な音世界を描く。独自の音楽性と高度な演奏技術から生まれる色彩豊かな音色は多方面から評価を得ている。全国ギターコンテストにおいて多数の受賞歴を持ち、Instagramフォロワーは10万人を突破。
演奏活動をはじめ、楽曲制作・編曲、ギターレッスンまでを幅広く活躍する。
長崎県出身。5歳から母の手ほどきを受けピアノを習い音楽に興味を抱く。その後、16歳からクラシックギターを始め、益田洋一、新井伴典の両氏に師事。
国内の様々なコンクールにて入賞を重ね、演奏活動を開始。
